This week, the infamous Panama Papers lead the way for what turned out to be quite the dicey week.  Although not all is what it seems in respect to that latest information leak.

Moving along the line of stunning developments, Robert De Niro opened up quite saliently and unexpectedly about vaccines and autism, considering there was a concerted effort by the comptrollers to shut him up from speaking out about what’s taking place and also from spreading information from the documentary VAXXED.

Coupled with that, nurses are beginning to take the stand in respect to genetically modified foods, Zika propaganda is back in the fold & the USDA once again throws consumers under the bus by not doing its job in a recent development.

Lastly, the demand for real – organic – food is reaching new heights as countless new farms are moving towards a much more healthier alternative regarding their food choices.

Hope everyone’s week was great, and weekend was better.

Thousands of comments have been filed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since November 12, 2015 for its ‘open comment’ period on the ‘natural’ foods label. Helping to fill up the comments was The American Nurses Association, weighing in on how products containing genetically modified ingredients should not be allowed in any product labeled ‘natural.’

Executive director Debbie D. Hatmaker wrote in the organization’s comments:

“Furthermore, ANA requests that the FDA require clear, appropriate food labeling including the country-of-origin and any genetic modification of any of the food’s ingredients.

The public has a right to know the contents of their food and food products and the manner in which they were processed or modified.”

What is also interesting is the lack of comments by big players in the food industry. The North American Meat Institute and the Grocery Manufacturers Association joined to request more time to prepare comments and compile information.

Due to public requests, the comment period has been extended to May 10, 2016. You can make your comments, here. PLEASE DO!

There have already been numerous lawsuits against companies for using the phrase ‘all natural’ on food products containing GMOs. Kashi had to pay $4 million in a false advertising lawsuit put forth in Florida. The lawsuit claimed that Kellogg’s, the parent company for Kashi, advertised an “all natural” (GM-free) product that was, in reality, full of genetically modified ingredients.

22,000 Nurses Refuse *Mandatory* Vaccinations

For those doubting the veracity of issues with vaccinations, below there will be more than 80 studies which outline some of the dangers in vaccines with their sources.

80+ Studies Outlining Some Of The Dangers In Vaccines

If you are a nurse in the US and refuse the flu vaccine (one the CDC has even admitted doesn’t always work, largely due to fast mutations and too slow of production) then you have to wear a face mask while on duty. Despite the fact that multiple studies have also shown that flu vaccinations are ineffective and do not offer any extra protection for hospital patients, hospitals are forcing the issue on some of their most prized employees.

Some nurses are choosing to lose their jobs instead of being forced into receiving a vaccine. Others are fighting back by suing the hospital, state, and federal governments for $100,000,000 for trying to take away their constitutional rights.

Dr. Karen Sullivan Sibert, herself a pro-vaccine doctor, wrote an opinion piece explaining how requiring nurses to wear masks for refusing the flu vaccination violates HIPAA law for patient privacy. More importantly, it forces our front lines in the healthcare industry to take a concoction with numerous questionable ingredients, including known neurotoxins like aluminum, foreign proteins derived from GM ingredients, and more.

There are in fact, more than 22,000 nurses, part of Nurses against Mandatory Vaccines (NAMV), who are refusing mandatory vaccines. NAMV was founded when mandatory vaccines were introduced in the workplace, and though it is not pro-vaccine OR anti-vaccine, it is certainly pro-CHOICE. NAMV members believe that all people should have the right to choose and refuse medical treatment, including nurses and healthcare workers.

Why the big push for flu vaccines, anyhow? Publicly available information now shows that hospital systems are REQUIRED to have a 90% or higher flu shot reception rate among their staff, or they lose up to 2% of their funding of Medicare/Medicaid. Conflict of interest?

While the government itself does not require mandatory vaccination policies, many if not all are taking an “all or nothing” stance against their workers. Healthcare workers are now facing being fired if they refuse a flu vaccine. Not only is this a human rights violation, it is also an EEOC violation.

Whistleblower Says She Was Fired from Hospital for Pointing Out Patient Safety Concerns

A whistleblowing nurse who used to work at a Kaiser hospital says that she was fired for looking after patients’ health. After voicing concerns over cost-cutting initiatives that might jeopardize patient safety and complaining about state labor violations she observed at the hospital, she was let go.

The registered nurse, Mercedita Desumala first began working for Kaiser in 2005. She recently filed a lawsuit against Kaiser in Alameda Superior Court, alleging she was fired from San Leandro Hospital in Oakland after complaining about the removal of monitor technicians from the hospital’s fifth floor telemetry department.

In her 33-page complaint, she states:

“The fifth floor … was traditionally staffed by monitor technicians who are entrusted with the crucial job of monitoring the heart rhythms of patients on the floor. If … irregularities are not caught, they can be extremely dangerous and often fatal for the patients. As part of a cost-saving initiative, Kaiser removed all the monitor technicians from the fifth floor of the San Leandro Hospital.”

The nurse believes that this move puts patients’ lives as risk, and after submitting Assignment Despite Objection forms to the California Nurses’ Association as well as making verbal complaints to supervisors, specifically nurse manager Norie Bustamente, she was fired from her position.

Desumala says that Kaiser retaliated in part because administrators knew the nurses’ union would send a copy of the forms to the California Department of Health Care Services and were aggravated that she kept notes about work conditions.

Her complaint further explains that she kept meticulous records in order to prevent a lethal mistake.

“[She] also kept these records because she felt the threat to patient health and safety posed a risk to her own nursing license and she wanted to have a record of her work if an issue were to arise.”

Desumala says that Kaiser expected nurses to work extra hours, even when they were short-staffed, and to pick up the slack that the monitors might normally account for.

She says nurses were “dangerously fatigued” as a result and that they were put under the microscope for working overtime.
