Don’t yank your summer kale! Kale is hardy so if the roots don’t freeze, it will over-winter and you will have edible spring flowers. Here in Maryland Zone 7, kale is a 3 season crop. Come late summer I often have to freshen it up to get it ready to thrive in the fall. I show you how I treat whiteflies, caterpillars and snails.
