India — Monsanto is losing millions on failed GM cotton. The company illegally pushed a form of Bt cotton into India and Africa more than a decade ago, but farmers are now pushing back by planting their own indigenous seed.

Monsanto is accused of writing laws and then breaking them to enter the market in India, but after more than 300,000 farmer deaths between 1995 and 2013, many of them attributed to Monsanto, the company is finally paying for their misdeeds. The corporation’s greed is linked to farmer suicides throughout Maharashtra, considered the ‘Cotton Belt’ in India.

The Indian government is now actively promoting the use of indigenous seed, and has called Monsanto out for profiteering illegally on Bt cotton seed.

Monsanto has already lost nearly $75 million in royalties this year (5 billion rupees) due to the change in seed choice by farmers. Sales in India have fallen by 15 percent, and though this is a relatively small market share, it is still making a huge impact on the company’s bottom line.

This could be the end of Monsanto, altogether, in India. Keshav Raj Kranthi, head of India’s Central Institute for Cotton Research said:

“Just wait for the crucial three to four years to see a complete, natural turnaround. By then most farmers will give up Bt cotton and go for the indigenous variety.”

Notably, Burkina Fasso in West Africa also recently rejected Monsanto’s Bt cotton seed after finding the seed produced a poor quality cotton that fetched low prices for the farmers who bothered to grow it.

While Monsanto argues that its genetically modified seed is better, many studies state that their comparisons were not looking at hybridized and indigenous seed (not GM seeds) that give better crop quality and higher yields.

Bt cotton is genetically modified seed which contains Bacillus thuringiensis, a bacterium that produces toxins harmful to a variety of insects, including, supposedly, bollworms that attack cotton; however, like weeds that have become impervious to RoundUp, many organisms become even stronger when introduced to genetic mutations of Mother Nature’s perfection. Monsanto even admits that insect resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis is ‘natural’ and ‘to be expected’.

Indeed, the indigenous varieties of cotton have fared better against the bollworm, whitefly, drought, and other dangers that cotton farmers face.

Monsanto (doing business in India as Mahyco Monsanto Business Limited) has even threatened to pull out of India completely, calling the bluff of a government who threatened to lower their royalties; but the government was undeterred, cut their seed royalties by 74 percent, and capped seed prices.

This will bring much relief to cotton farmers in India, but with 96 percent of India’s cotton crop being developed with Monsanto’s Bt cotton, it could take generations to recapture the indigenous crop completely, while bankrupting the corrupt Monsanto simultaneously.

As Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, India’s Junior Agricultural Minister has said of Monsanto, “The greed has to end.”

India Says HAARP Is A Geoengineering Weather Modification Weapon

August 6, 2016

Remember that story earlier this week about the strangely warm weather in Russia’s Arctic region, where an anthrax-infected corpse and several dead reindeer were found, prompting the Russian government to send over 1,000 special biowarfare troops to the region? At that time, I found the story unusual, and even implied that some sort of deliberate weather manipulation might have taken place. One reader pointed out that on occasion even Arctic regions can experience high temperatures. Well, true enough. I remember when I was eighteen years old, a family trip to Fairbanks, Alaska, to visit my aunt and uncle there. On one day, or rather, night….er… morning, I was reading a book in my shorts, sandals, and t-shirt in a guest bedroom. It was 3:30 AM. Outside, the sun was shining brightly, birds were chirping, and clothes were drying on the clothesline, and it was a balmy 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Even so, Fairbanks wasn’t Point Barrow, and 85 degrees isn’t 95 degrees, and the fact that the corpse in the Russian Arctic wasn’t exposed until now indicates that the region had not hitherto experienced such temperatures (unless, of course, we’re not being told the whole story, and a cover story is being put out, which is entirely possible).

Alaska is, of course, home to the well-known, and in some circles infamous, HAARP phased radio antenna array. HAARP’s purpose is exposed by unscrambling the acronym: High Altitude Auroral Research Project. Its antennae are designed to project and focus a gigawatt of power into the ionosphere. As many speculated at the time that HAARP began to go online in the late 1980s and early 1990s – Jeanne Manning and Nick Begich among them – this might conceivably allow regions of high and low pressures to be created which, in turn, could be used to “steer” weather systems. As they also pointed out in their widely-known book at that time, Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, the patents behind HAARP speculated on this possibility, and additionally on the possibility that by altering the electrical cavity of the ionosphere sufficiently, the technology might also be able to influence the electronics of missiles and satellites. It is significant, they pointed out, that HAARP was funded by the Reagan Administration, which was trying to develop and deploy a missile defense shield as a component of its Strategic Defense Initiative.

Of course, there were the usual US government denials that any of this was on the agenda, or even possible, with the HAARP array, and these denials have continued to the present time. Enter India, which has physicists too (and some pretty good ones…and, incidentally, this article was shared by Catherine Austin Fitts):

US Developed Weapon System May Cause Global Warming

Note what the Indian government is claiming: the HAARP system is (1) a weapon  and (2) capable of modifying weather. In other words, it’s a weather weapon, and can be used to create storms, droughts, floods, and other “acts of nature”, the ultimate in “plausible deniability.”

Negative Mainstream Media Articles On Gold & Silver Don’t Tell The Truth

unraveling1
Source: TheDailyBell.com
July 18, 2016

NEW YORK, July 15 … Hedge funds and money managers again raised their net long positions in COMEX silver futures and options to fresh record highs in the week to July 12, as spot prices hovered near two-year highs, data showed on Friday. As gold’s safe-haven appeal waned, speculators cut their record bullish bets for the first time in five weeks and raised their net longs in copper, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) data showed.     For silver, it was also the fifth straight week of additions.  – Reuters

Silver and gold have had terrific weeks but as we’ve been showing, the mainstream media, especially the business media, often focuses on the negatives.

Meanwhile, the news queues are filled with anti-metals propaganda.

From Yahoo:

Why silver’s post-Brexit bull run may soon be over  …  While the fallout from the Brexit vote has added uncertainty to global markets, some investors have been profiting off the increased appetite for safety plays.

Since Britain voted to leave the EU, the price of silver has shot up about 17%, hovering near its highest level in nearly two years. Its strong performance over the past few weeks has made it one of the best-performing major asset classes since the vote, driven by investors’ demand for risk-off trading.

But after its big run, investors are asking if silver can keep its upward momentum going. Bob Iaccino, chief market strategist and co-founder of Path Trading Partners, told Yahoo Finance’s Seana Smith in the video above that investors need to be careful of money managers beginning to take profits, warning that now may not be the best time to buy the metal.

Would you ever see this sort of article in response to a stock rally? Far more likely that Yahoo would be presenting an article asking “How high can the Dow go?”

And how about this article from Bloomberg?

Silver Glut Swamps India as Buying Frenzy Passes Country … Silver imports by India are set to plunge from last year’s record as jewelers grapple with slowing demand and excessive inventories after domestic prices climbed to the highest levels since 2013.

Overseas purchases probably slumped by about 40 percent from a year earlier to 2,000 metric tons in the first half, and total imports for the year will fall short of the 7,500 tons bought in 2015, said Chirag Sheth, a Mumbai-based analyst at Metals Focus Ltd., an independent precious-metals research firm.

India, the top consumer of gold after China, is also one of the world’s largest buyers of silver, which is popular in rural areas where farmers with no access to banks prefer it as a store of value.

So silver is very popular in India, so much so that a combination of persistent buying in the face of high prices has finally slowed silver for a period of time.

One might just as easily write that Indian buyers are digesting their purchases before coming back for more. But that wouldn’t be negative enough.

The mainstream media is a bankers’ medium and bankers control economies via fiat money and central banking. This is inevitable and endless reason why gold and silver in particular receive negative coverage.

Mind-Boggling: Thousands Of Years Ago, The Ancients Carve THIS Temple Out Of A Mountain

Ancient Hindu Temple

June 20, 2016

How the ancients constructed some of the most incredible ancient monuments we see today remains one of the greatest archaeological mysteries of the 21st century. Not only is it a mystery how ancient mankind managed to create The Kailasa temple –which is one of the largest rock-cut ancient Hindu temples on the planet–  but how ancient cultures in South and Central America managed to quarry, transport and place giant boulders is something not even engineers today can not imagine.

Archaeologists are said to have confirmed that over 400,000 tons of rock had to be scooped out, which would have taken not years, but centuries of human labor. Historians have no record of such a monstrous task and they think that it was built in less than 18 years. (Source)

The Kailasa temple in Ellora, Maharashtra, India is a MEGALITH carved out of a SINGLE rock. It is considered as one of the most remarkable cave temples in India, mostly because of its humongous site, architecture and sculptural implementations.

Interestingly, the Kailasa is just one of the 34 monasteries and temples which extend over an area of 2 kilometers. The temples were dug side by side in the basalt cliff at Ellora. The temple itself was built out of a single rock, 164 feet deep, 109 feet wide, and 98 feet high, making it ONE of the BIGGEST MONOLITHIC structures on the planet, carved out of a single rock.

It is believed that the original builders of the Kailasa temple used a vertical excavation method. The started at the top of the original boulders and worked their way downward carving out one of the most fascinating ancient temples on the planet.

The temples are said to have been sculptured by a number of different cultures, from Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists. According to mainstream scholars, the earliest caves were believed to have been carved around 300 BC. However, most of the work was done in the period from the IV to the IX Century AD.

But not everyone agrees when it comes to the age of the ancient temples.

According to H.P. Blavatsky, many of these ancient temples date back much longer than what scholars today believe.

M.K. Dhavalikar, a notable Indian historian, and archaeologist, author of the book ‘Ellora’, the shrines and the Kailasa temple were not excavated at the same time but are the result of construction process that belongs to a number of different periods.

There is a perforated window in the west wall [of cave 15, a Hindu cave] on which is engraved a Sanskrit inscription in the Brahmi script of the eighth century. It is, however, incomplete and much of it has been damaged due to weathering. It gives the genealogy of the Rashtrakuta dynasty, from the founder Dantivarman (c. 600-30) and records the visit of Dantidurga (752-7) to the cave. It can, therefore, be placed in the middle of the eighth century. — Ellora, pp. 36-7 *Ellora, M. K. Dhavalikar, 2003, p. 7. (Source)

“This, of course, only proves that the caves existed in the 8th century and were engraved at that time with this inscription. Again, “There were inscriptions on pillars [in cave 33, a Jain cave] which are now mostly worn; a few letters that have survived suggest that the cave may have been built at around the ninth century” (ibid., p. 96). (Source)

But there are different theories about this fascinating ancient complex. Many Hindu experts agree that not much is known about the building process of the temple and its builders.

Here we have a few images that are worth a million words, enjoy.

US To Move Space Assets Into Deep Space & A Strange Goldman Sachs…

US TO MOVE SPACE ASSETS INTO DEEP SPACE, AND A STRANGE GOLDMAN SACHS ...

Yesterday I blogged about the continuing emergence of details about the recent visit of President Obama to a summit meeting with the newly elected President Macri of Argentina in San Carlos di Bariloche, a location that hardly needs any introduction to readers of my books, and particularly of The Nazi International. In yesterday’s blog, you’ll recall, I referenced a strange article that connected some very unlikely dots, namely: (1) the secret Chinese space base in that region of Argentina, (2) the Falklands Islands and a recent UN report that lists the Falklands as falling within Argentina’s territorial waters (3) President Obama’s summit meeting with Senor Macri, and the fact that a virtual battalion of NASA people was part of Mr. Obama’s entourage, (4) the speculations that the Falklands played some sort of role in American plans for the region, and finally, (5) that all of this was somehow related to Moon mining and secrets and secret activity in Antarctica.

Well, today put all that into yet another context, as the steady trickle of space-related news stories seems to get more and more bizarre on an almost daily basis. Consider this article, shared by Mr. T.M., and(in what is an unusual procedure for us on this website) this video “commercial” by a Goldman Sachs analyst about space:

Monsanto Losing Its Grip?

Monsanto, the world’s largest seed manufacturer, is not having a good year. The company recently slashed its 2016 earnings forecast from the $5.10-$5.60 per share it had forecast in December to $4.40-$5.10, claiming that about 25-30 cents of the reduction was due to the stronger dollar. But judging by recent trends, a strong dollar could soon be the least of its concerns.

Across a number of key markets, the company is facing growing resistance, not only from farmers and consumers but also, amazingly, governments.

In India, the world’s biggest cotton producer, the Ministry of Agriculture accuses Monsanto of price gouging. It even imposed a 70% cut in the royalties that the firm’s Indian subsidiary could charge farmers for their crop genes, prompting Monsanto to threaten that it would withdraw its biotech crop genes from the country.

If Monsanto’s threat was a bluff, it’s just been called. According to Mandava Prabhakara Rao, the president of the National Seed Association of India (NSAI), Monsanto’s threat came as a big relief:

All these years, the company has restrained us from using technologies other than the one developed by it. It forced the seed firms to sign the licence agreements that barred them from using other technologies.

India’s government also seems unconcerned by the prospect of Monsanto’s withdrawal.“It’s now up to Monsanto to decide whether they want to accept this rate or not,” said Minister of state for agriculture and food processing, Sanjeev Balyan. “We’re not scared if Monsanto leaves the country, because our team of scientists are working to develop (an) indigenous variety of (GM) seeds.”

The GMO Scrapbook – India Cuts Royalties, Monsanto Threatens To…

March 15, 2016

Yesterday I blogged about a report that allegedly was circulating in the Kremlin regarding GMOs, vaccinations, and the general state of the West’s “food” sup;ly and “nutrition.” In that blog, I raised again an idea that I have been advancing for some years regarding “GMO geopolitics,” i.e., the idea that the BRICSA bloc, if it was smart, would seek to transform the GMO debate and issue into a gepolitical issue, ie. an issue of the exercise of soft power. To do this, I’ve been maintaining that it could carefully position itself on the side of those who are increasingly raising concerns about the safety of such products. Yesterday, it will be recalled, Russia apparently has now expanded this to encompass the link between autism and the slew of vaccinations that big pharma increasingly presses in the West, and in some cases, successfully lobbies for mandatory vaccination rules.

It seems in this respect that things are also heating up on the GMO issue in India, where there has been a rising concern and political opposition to GMOs, according to this article that many have shared:

Monsanto threatens to quit Indian GM-cotton market if govt cuts its royalties

Here’s the crux of the matter:

American agrochemical giant Monsanto has threatened to pull out of India and hold back new genetically modified cotton technologies if the government continues its “arbitrary and potentially destructive” interventions that seek to cut the company’s royalty fees.

Last year the Indian government issued an order to control cotton seed prices effective from the 2016-17 crop year. In a ruling, the antitrust regulator, Competition Commission of India, accused the GMO giant of potentially abusing its dominant position on the market. The Agriculture Ministry set up a special committee tasked with implementing brackets for seed price along with royalty fees, after the completion of an investigation into the matter. State in India Goes 100% Organic, Protects 75,000 Hectares of Land from GMOs

As of the end of December, 2015, Sikkim has become India’s first fully organic state in the country. Implementing organic farming practices on 75,000 hectares of land, the citizens of Sikkim will enjoy GMO-free, sustainable agriculture which will be certified organic.

“We have achieved fully-organic status in the end of December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally announce this at a sustainable agriculture conference in Gangtok on January 18,” said Sikkim Organic Mission’s executive director Dr. Anbalagan.

The many thousands of hectares of land have been gradually converted to certified-organic land by following guidelines specified in the National Program for Organic Production. This has been a process underway since 2003, when the Pawan Chamling-led government declared Sikkim to be an organic farming state in the legislative assembly.

Slowly, chemicals such as non-organic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides used in conventional farming were lessened, and eventually banned. This left farmers with no other option, except to farm organically.

Secretary Khorlo Bhutia says this will preserve the soil, maintain agricultural sustainability, and support bio-diversity.

The Decline Of The Petrodollar? Iran & India Settle In Rupees – But…

Source: GizaDeathStar.com
Dr. Joseph P. Farrell
January 9, 2016

A couple of years ago you might recall that the world watched as India and Iran agreed to settle some of their payments in Indian rupees rather than dollars. It was, I suggested, a symbolic act signaling more to come. Well, in this article shared by Mr. D T, it just came:

Just the Beginning: Iran, India Dump Petrodollar, Settle Oil Payments in Rupees

Note that the article is clear as to what is going on: trade between the two nations, which had been settled in part in rupees, is now going to be conducted bi-laterally entirely in rupees, do not pass go, no longer going to the Federal Reserve jail:

Iran and India have announced that they intend to settle all oustanding crude oil payments in rupees, as part of a joint strategy to dump the dollar and trade instead in national currencies. The Indian Express reports:

Ditching the dollar, Iran and India have agreed to settle all outstanding crude oil dues in rupees in preparation to future trade in their national currencies.

In other words(and reading between the lines a bit), the prior arrangement whereby some oil payments were settled in rupees worked well enough for both parties to agree to a total abandonment of the dollar, at least with respect to oil payments. And as the article also notes, such arrangements have geopolitical consequences:

This is truly a bold move by Iran, a country literally surrounded by American military bases. We shouldn’t forget what happened to Iraq after it announced that it was dumping the dollar.

The difference, of course, is that Iran has a little friend called “Russia”.
