FBI Releases October Background Check Numbers

On Tuesday afternoon, the FBI released the October report from the National Instant Background Check System (NICS). Over 2.3 million background checks were performed during the last month, an increase from 1.9 million in September.

What’s most interesting is the dramatic rise in overall background checks within the last decade.  Only 1.1 million background checks were performed during October 2008, and that rose slightly to just 1.6 million background checks in October of 2012.

Is this increase just a general trend in gun ownership, or is this a result of Second Amendment lovers recovering from an Obama presidency and preparing for Hillary Clinton?

Here are some background check numbers from the October report broken down by states of interest:

  • California – 180,968
  • Florida – 111,657
  • Illinois – 169,348
  • Pennsylvania – 103,05
  • Texas – 144,467

And the big winner? Kentucky performed 378,973 background checks last month!

Every state had an increase in background checks, except Louisiana. The Bayou State had a 1 percent drop since September.

University Of Chicago Accidentally Proved That Gun Control Laws Don’t Work

Criminals don’t follow the law, and they especially do not follow gun control laws.

Source: AmericanPatriotDaily.com
August 4, 2016

The city of Chicago has some of the toughest and strictest gun control laws on the books out of all the major cities in the entire country.

But every day the newspapers and TV stations of Chicago fill the airwaves with devastating reports showing innocent Americans being murdered by criminals carrying guns.

The city is a shining example of how gun control doesn’t stop criminals from obtaining and using guns to commit robbery and murder.

Instead of allowing law abiding Americans the chance to easily acquire a firearm for self-defense, politicians and public officials in Chicago call for harsher anti-gun measures almost daily.

The anti-gun crowd refuses to accept reality and the fact that criminals don’t obey gun control laws. They would rather disarm law abiding citizens who accept and obey the law.

A recent study by the University of Chicago proved this point after conducting a study to figure out how criminals in Chicago were acquiring their firearms.

Not surprisingly, administers of the study quickly learned these criminals do not acquire their guns from licensed dealers, private sellers, or even the Internet.

The study looked at inmates in Chicago’s Cook County Jail who face gun charges or who have a history of firearm related convictions.

They learned zero criminals have used gun shows or the Internet to purchase their weapons.

The reason why?  The method is too easily traceable by law enforcement.

Instead, the preferred method for criminals was to purchase firearms available on the streets, where they are harder for law enforcement to track.

Harold Pollack, University of Chicago’s Crime Lab co-director, also said criminals, “were less concerned about getting caught by the cops than being put in the position of not having a gun to defend themselves and then getting shot.”

Basically, the University of Chicago admits that the city is so dangerous, criminals would rather risk going to jail than not being able to effectively defend themselves.

The study also showed:

“The vast majority of the inmates used handguns to commit their crimes or protect themselves, very few cited using “military-style assault weapons.” And they said their habit was to get rid of a gun after one year because of the “legal liability” of being caught with a gun that could be linked to crimes they or others committed.

As for specifics regarding sources for purchasing guns, some of the inmates indicated that gangs have individuals with a Firearm Owners Identification Card who buy guns then sell them to gang members. Others indicated using “corrupt cops” who seize guns then “put them back on the street.”

Gun rights groups have long claimed universal background checks are nothing more than a step towards a federal registry of all gun owners – which gun rights groups also argue would consequentially lead to outright confiscation of all firearms in America.

So while the anti-gun crowd pushes a purely fictional narrative that background checks stop bad guys from getting guns, the actual statistics and facts say their argument couldn’t be further from the truth.

Analyzing Human Actions – Orlando Shooting

“A gun in the hands of a bad man is a very dangerous thing.  A gun in the hands of a good person is no danger to anyone except the bad guys.”
-Charlie Heston

The moral fiber of the country will be tested with this latest shooting.

Allegedly, 50 people or so died from this rather unfortunate event.  My condolences definitely go out to those who lost lives, their families & loved ones.

However, let’s put this shooting into context.

The Second Amendment is the Amendment that protects all others, especially vs. tyranny.  Without it, all we would have is the illusion of freedom.  It’s bad enough that people need licenses in most places that allow [allow? – thought we were free?] concealed carry.   Now, the comptrollers, and especially Hillary Clinton will begin wanting to push gun control as she has in the past, and as she’s been expected to do, that’s what Clinton’s do, after all.

So we’ve established what Hillary Clinton will do, which is ask that everyone hand over their firearms.

Ruminate about it.  A criminal carries out a shooting.  But, in the establishment’s warped mind, law-abiding citizens are the ones that should pay the price…

Does that even make sense?  Why should people that did not commit any crimes and are law abiding citizens be punished for what one alleged person did?  That’s preposterous.

To get to the core of the matter, let’s compare some numbers.

As of 2013, according to FactCheck.org, Homicide deaths made up 11,208 of firearm deaths.  That’s nigh 31 people dying daily due to firearm-related homicide carried out by criminals.

Please keep in mind, there are tens of MILLIONS OF FIREARMS in the hands of responsible gun owners.  If all gun owners were problematic, everyday would be hell on Earth in the United States.  Such is not the case however, and hasn’t been countless decades.

In any case, in regards to mindless death, let’s harpoon onto something else that’s been plaguing the populace for decades.

That, conservatively, adds up to 400,000 deaths a year, EVERY YEAR
.  Or 1096 people dying every day, like clock-work.

Comparing the daily death tolls:

31 people being killed by criminals daily – NOT law abiding citizens.

1096 people being killed by preventable medical errors by the medical establishment.

11,208 deaths from homicides involving firearms.

400,000 deaths from preventable medical errors [conservative estimate].

*** The 400,000 deaths does not include the fact that the medical system injures 1.5 Million more annually, as of 2006***

Of course, we won’t hear the above verifiable facts from the media.  That’s not convenient to the establishment.

But they will surely use a very unfortunate shooting for their gain.  After all, establishment crony Rahm Emanuel said it best, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.”

Simply stated, they will use that unfortunate event to push every single tyrannical agenda they can, and take away more rights away from the populace.

Knowing what we know, which one is a bigger problem?  The 11,208 yearly deaths via homicide shootings by criminals, or 400,000 yearly deaths from preventable medical errors [conservative estimate] that do not include the 1.5 Million more annually?  The numbers aren’t even close.

If people are getting up in arms about the shooting, why aren’t they up in arms about the hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths by medical doctors?

Simple.  Their reality is carved out by the mainstream media, and they gobble it up without a second thought.  Since most people think the world is what the box tells them, they realize NOT what the box does NOT mention, and they never question it.

Why would they?

Cracking the reality egg would make people come to terms with many uncomfortable circumstances.

An incisive individual would have to come to terms that reality isn’t what they were taught all along.

Thus, as individuals we have a choice, we either see reality for what it is, or we allow others to duplicitously construct a shadow of reality for us.

One reality makes us a slave to the system and all its agendas.

The other allows our freedom.

Which reality do you live in?

Politicians’ Class-Privilege – Armed Security

“After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.” (William Burroughs, Grand Street no. 37, 1992)

Let me state, for the record, that I’m not in favor of selling guns at 7-Elevens or from street vending machines. There are, however, a few nagging questions about gun ownership I want to scratch, claw, and flagellate, so follow along as I try to take apart a weird, wacky, and wonderful subject.

We’ve all heard this one: if a politician wants to disarm the public, he should give up his own security protection. See how he likes it.

What is it about politicians that gives them a special right to have armed professionals stalk their perimeter and mumble into their collars?

I can think of two reasons. One, pols are important. We need them. We need them more than we need, say, electricians or plumbers or pizza delivery boys or dentists.

I fail to admire the class distinction. And that’s putting it generously. In the overwhelming number of cases, the wounding or killing of a politician would result in another pol, very much like him, moving in to take his place. The new entry would vote along party lines, at the instruction of his superiors. He would commit the same unconscionable actions. He would display the same level of incompetence. Or, if you believe politicians are honorable and even insightful, then surely a pol who is taken out of action could be replaced by another who is endowed with the same admirable qualities.

The second reason: top-tier politicians are very visible. They’re widely known. They’re celebrities. As such, they attract crazies. Therefore, they need security.

Ah, but wait. It starts to get tricky here. What about famous actors and athletes? They, too, have many fans, a small percentage of whom are nuts. These private-sector celebs hire their own guards. They can afford to.

But…many politicians don’t have that kind of money. Therefore, they need government to pay for the hired guns, who are other government employees.

So follow this…if money, no-money is the only distinction here, then rich politicians should certainly pay for their own private guards.

In which case, government regulations should be issued that spell out the level of wealth, the demarcation line. A politician who has at least X assets to his name must hire his own protection. Anything below that and he can avail himself of government help. That makes sense, or am I missing something?

I’d like to see John Heinz Kerry sweep into town with his own private muscle. You know, guys with heavy auto-weapons held across their black undershirts. Maybe a band, too, blasting a Springsteen cover. Just for show. Hillary, on the other hand, could go with an all-girl phalanx of Amazons packing sawed offs. With a few drones overhead. I suspect the President has enough cash stashed away by now to afford his own security. He could go straight Sinaloa, or maybe he’d do a mix of cartel soldiers and Syrian “moderate rebels.”

Of course, there’s always the argument that politicians are under extraordinary threat from foreign enemies, and that’s why they require the kind of government protection plain citizens don’t need. As a counter to that, I would simply offer the gun-violence statistics of America. For some esoteric reason, it turns out that people no one has ever heard of are most likely to become shooting victims.

In any case, no one is supposed to protect himself. That’s for sure. It would be vile, ugly. We expect criminals to shoot people. We’re ready for that. But if a law-biding citizen suddenly fires a weapon, in order, for example, to stay alive, it’s an offense to our sensibilities. It looks bad. He could have been shooting bullets for the wrong reason, and even though he wasn’t, the mere suggestion of it is enough to disturb us. We’ve been “triggered,” psychologically. We are the victims. And we must demand justice.
