One of the keys to keeping your brain nice and plump and in proper working order is avoiding soda – and not just the sugar-sweetened kind, either. Drinking sodas, whether regular or diet, is bad for brain health, 2 recent studies show. [1]

One study showed that people who drank diet soda every day were three times more likely to have a stroke or develop dementia over 10 years compared with those who didn’t consume any diet soda.

The second study showed that people who drank at least one diet soda daily had smaller brain volumes than people who didn’t drink any diet soda. The same study found that people who consumed more than two sugary beverages a day, such as soda or fruit juice, had smaller brain volumes and worse memory function compared with non-sugary beverage drinkers.

Study #1

For the first study, researchers interviewed about 43,000 people, age 45 and older, three times over seven years, and asked them whether they drank any diet or sugar-sweetened beverages. Toward the end of the study, the researchers started tracking the participants’ health for cases of stroke and dementia. This monitoring continued for 10 years.

During the monitoring period, 97 people had a stroke, and 81 developed dementia. Sixty-three of the 81 had dementia consistent with Alzheimer’s disease.

The scientists concluded that diet beverage consumption – but not sugary drink consumption – was associated with a higher risk of stroke and dementia over a 10-year period.

It’s not clear why; however, diet drinks have been linked in past studies to obesity and diabetes, which might also be linked with poor blood circulation. Circulation problems may increase a person’s risk of stroke or dementia because a constant flow of blood is necessary for proper brain functioning.

Study #2

In the second study, researchers looked at brain scans and results of cognitive tests conducted on about 4,000 people. Participants self-reported whether they drank any diet or sugary beverages, and if so, how much.

Researchers uncovered a link between the consumption of both sugary and diet drinks and smaller brain volumes. An additional link between the consumption of sugary beverages and poorer memory was found. All are considered risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease, according to the researchers.

The team controlled for cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, blood pressure, and various other health and behavioral factors. [2]

As in the first study, the mechanisms behind the decline in brain volume and memory may be tied to poor circulation, as previous research has linked high sugar intake with diabetes and high blood pressure. Both conditions are linked to compromised blood circulation that may negatively affect brain health. [1]

Lead author Matthew P. Pase, a senior research fellow at Boston University, says of the results of the second study:

“Although we can’t prove cause and effect, these data suggest that we should be cautious about drinking sugary beverages. They’re empty calories that contribute to weight gain and metabolic disease.” [2]

DEA refuses to admit that cannabis has medicinal value, despite widespread evidence to the contrary

In August 2016, the DEA was expected to reclassify cannabis or remove it from their hit list altogether; however, when decision time arrived, the DEA refused to remove cannabis from its highly schedule one drug status. Even though cannabis has become a vital part of cancer treatments and an effective treatment for seizures, anxiety, and glaucoma, the DEA stated that “science doesn’t support” cannabis as useful for any medical purposes.

Hypocritically, the federal government itself has filed a patent claiming that cannabis has useful medical purposes, including powerful “antioxidant properties.” The patent, filed in 1999 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, admits that cannabis is useful “in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.”

Government patents cannabis, admitting its powerful antioxidant properties

The 1999 cannabis patent, (code 6,630,507) was a government confession that cannabis wasn’t some brain damaging chemical, as it had been depicted through decades of brainwashing. In fact, the patent admitted that cannabis was a “neuroprotectant,” capable of reversing neurological damage. The patent confessed that cannabis actually reversed “neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia.”

With this patented knowledge coming out in the open in 2003, the DEA no longer had any justification to continue its war on cannabis and its war on the people who reap benefits from this natural medicine. But even seventeen years after the government admitted cannabis is a useful medicine, the DEA refuses to reclassify the plant as having multiple medical uses.

To reschedule cannabis, the government would have to give up control and admit they were wrong all along. For this rescheduling of cannabis to come about, the DEA would literally be declaring that all the lives they ruined, all the people shot and imprisoned, was all in vain. It’s hard to imagine the DEA laying down their pride unless the entire organization was shut down and/or given new priorities by a future president.

Acupuncture May Help Prevent Memory Loss, Study Suggests

Acupuncture may help those who are suffering from the early stages of dementia, a new study suggests. This stage, known as mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is somewhere between that of memory loss due to normal aging and memory loss due to dementia. This new study is one of the first that looks at the combination of Western and Eastern medicine, suggesting that acupuncture may work best if they are used in concert with one another. [1]

For this research, 568 people with MCI were studied. 288 received acupuncture whilst the remainder received nimodipine, a drug that is supposed to help reduce some of the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Three such studies were conducted in this way, while one studied the effect on the two when combined with one another. And while other studies had been done in a similar manner in 2011 and 2012, 5 out of 10 of them were not unsuitable for this current study. [1]

After poring over results of previous research and current research, it was concluded that those who participated in both acupuncture treatment and took nimodipine were most likely to perform well on mini memory tests than those who had received nimodipine alone. [2]

Those who participated in the study ranged in age from 26 to 94. In four of the trials, participants received acupuncture 3-5 days a week for 8 weeks, and in the other, received it for 3 months.

However, the participants did experience some side effects of the treatments. Namely, those who received acupuncture sometimes experienced fainting and light-headedness or bleeding from the site of the acupuncture wound. Those who took the nimodipine reported stomach upset and mild headaches.

While this trial does demonstrate that acupuncture can work well in conjunction with other treatments, the researchers have noticed several faults in the trial that make it inconclusive at this point. For example, those who conducted the experiment did not take the placebo effect into account. It was also neglected that most of the recruits for this study were in China, and therefore much more likely to believe that acupuncture therapy works, and in some cases, may actually prefer it to Western medicine.

According to The Telegraph, there is already evidence revealing a lower prevalence of dementia and better cognitive function in cultures where curry is a staple part of diets. Curcumin therapy has also been trialed in animals.

Dr. Laura Phipps of Alzheimer’s Research UK is reserving judgment. She said: “Some studies have produced limited evidence very high doses of curcumin – much higher than might be normally found in foods like curry – could have some impact on memory and thinking skills, but large-scale clinical trials will be required before researchers can fully assess any potential benefits.”

1. Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia

This progressive brain-destroying disease reportedly affects up to 5.3 million Americans. The numbers have been rising recently in keeping with the rise in our nation’s pesticide use, and this appears to be more than a coincidence. Studies have found that people exposed to pesticides have not only a greater incidence of Alzheimer’s and dementia, but also increased dysfunction in psychomotor, behavioral and cognitive skills. The link is particularly strong when it comes to insecticides.

2. Cancer

Many cancers have been linked to pesticides, including brain, bone, liver, pancreas, bladder and prostate cancers, as well as leukemia. Cancers of the lymph system, such as Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, are particularly well-documented. These are the seventh most commonly diagnosed cancers in adults, and the third most common in children. In fact, children who live in agricultural areas have higher risks of several of these illnesses.

3. Birth defects

Birth defects in humans and animals alike have been noted with increasing frequency as pesticide use rises, particularly in agricultural areas. For example, gastroschisis, a birth defect in which a baby’s intestines and other organs develop outside the abdomen, occurs much more frequently in babies with mothers who live within 25 kilometers of sites where the pesticide atrazine was used. In fact, atrazine has been linked to nine different birth defects.

4. Endocrine disruption

In this condition, chemicals from pesticides as well as plastics, household cleaners and other chemicals make their way into the body and disrupt its hormonal balance, leading to disease, developmental problems and reproductive issues. The endocrine system, which includes the thyroid, and adrenal and pituitary glands, is vital for growth and development, and anything that disrupts it can have major repercussions on one’s overall health. Pesticides and other chemicals change the concentration of the body’s natural hormones and interfere with metabolism, hormonal synthesis, transport and excretion. Male hormones are particularly vulnerable, reports Scientific American.

5. Reproductive issues

Exposure to pesticides can affect the reproductive systems of men and women alike. In one study, men who had high levels of three different common pesticides in their urine were actually ten times more likely to have low sperm quality. Meanwhile, rats who experienced even very low exposure to pesticides developed reproductive problems. Several pesticides and fungicides are also known to impair the synthesis of testosterone.

6. Asthma and allergies

The rate of asthma has been climbing dramatically in keeping with the rise of pesticide use. It is estimated that around 16 million Americans suffer from asthma, which is not only chronic but can also be life-threatening. Pesticide use has also been linked to food allergies. An Agricultural Health Study of more than 25,000 farm women found a link between seven different insecticides and atopic asthma.

7. Diabetes

While an unhealthy lifestyle certainly plays a role in type 2 diabetes, the widespread exposure to pesticides containing organophosphate can induce obesity and spur diabetic reactions. In one of several studies into the connection, a North Carolina State University study found elevated levels of diabetes among women who were exposed to five different classes of pesticides.

8. Parkinson’s Disease

This common neurodegenerative disease affects more than a million Americans, whose brain nerve cells become so damaged that they are unable to control the movement of their muscles. Pesticide exposure has been identified as a leading cause of this, with one study finding that the frequent use of household pesticides boosted a person’s odds of Parkinson’s by 47 percent. Even more alarmingly, those who frequently used organophosphate pesticides had a 71 percent higher likelihood of developing the neurodegenerative disease.

9. Developmental and learning disorders

Because organs continue to develop throughout childhood, children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of pesticides, and one place this can be quite evident is in the brain. Even low levels of pesticide exposure have been found to affect intelligence and behavior. Children who live in areas subjected to aerial spraying of pesticides for mosquitoes are 25 percent more likely to experience developmental disorders and autism.

The problems caused by pesticides are so bad that the French town of Saint-Jean has banned their use within 160 feet (50 meters) of homes. The town’s deputy mayor, who also happens to be a doctor, summed it up: “Research shows that people living near areas where pesticides are used are more affected by some diseases: endocrinal hormone disruption, diabetes and obesity, hormone-dependent cancers, cancer of the blood, male and female fertility problems and birth defects.”

If only every town – especially those with or close to farming communities – could get on board and protect the health of its citizens in such a strong and fearless way.

In fact, U.S. regulatory agencies, including the FDA, EPA and USDA, are run by Monsanto and other chemical giants that breed genetically modified organisms, a.k.a. pesticide-laden foods, that cause cancer, dementia and memory loss. Even the CDC is run by pharma insiders from Merck, Pfizer and GSK (Glaxo-Smith-Kline), who cover up vaccine violence and the chemical warfare that’s disguised as Western Medicine. Over 70,000 chemical food agents have already been approved by the FDA, and if you don’t believe it, that’s because you consume them and are experiencing severe brain fog right now. Will you be voting for Hillary, “Bride-of-Frankenfood” Clinton, in November? Chemical prescription medicine is not the answer to the chronic ills of consuming junk science food, although 200 million Americans wish and think it could be. People burn the candle at both ends, and their lives are shortened and filled with self-inflicted health misery. It’s sad but so true. #2. Intentionally scripted misinformation is posted on several websites to mislead people who seek to find out what’s really in their food. Websites like GMOAnswers.com, Council for Biotechnology Information, and Genetic Literacy Project, are three of the top propaganda websites that promote poisonous food as “science-based” and beneficial for humanity. Nearly every word printed and published by these shills is a lie, and intended to poison the brains of those who seek valid food information.

Junk science is the lab creation of “excitotoxins” – which are food chemicals designed to trick the taste buds and the brain into believing the body is consuming real food, with real flavoring, even though these food drugs are highly addictive and cause chronic damage to the central nervous system and brain cells. The most popular excitotoxins include monosodium glutamate (MSG) and aspartame, a.k.a. “sweet misery.”

“The anti-HBV activity of wogonin demonstrates its ability to suppress hepatitis B surface antigen secretion in cell culture,” the study highlights, noting that wogonin has also been shown to be effective in treating hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

3) Glycyrrhizin (Glycyrrhiza glabra). This active constituent of licorice root has long been used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis, and also possesses a host of natural anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. Glycyrrhizin is used in traditional Chinese medicine to protect liver function and also to combat tumors.

4) Resveratrol. This polyphenolic phytochemical derived from berries, grapes and wine, has gained itself a solid reputation as one of the most potent anti-aging compounds found in nature. But resveratrol has also been shown scientifically to have hepatoprotective properties that may help protect against hepatic damage caused by free radicals and inflammatory cytokines. It also helps elevate levels of glutathione in the body and promote the formation of antioxidant enzymes, both of which help protect the liver.
