“Probably as much as 75% of the medicine of sickness is unnecessary and its cost can be avoided.”
–  Dr. Ghislaine Lanctot, Author Of The Medical Mafia

It was reported by the British Medical Journal [BMJ] – although it had already been reported for quite some time by various researchers who outlined Dr. Barbara Starfield’s study for more than a decade – that preventable medical errors were the third leading cause of death in the United States.

Its quite unfortunate downright disturbing that such a system kills 250,000 [conservative estimate] a year, like clockwork, and still fosters so much trust even though prescription drugs are in fact 16,400% deadlier than terrorists.

There are many things that Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know.  And given that the Big Pharma literally pays the Mainstream Media’s bill, we can’t expect decent coverage of such deleterious issues.  Furthermore, coverage of Big Pharma’s dirty laundry would crack the reality egg and wake people up.  The establishment will always make sure that doesn’t happen.

Think about it, if terrorists were killing 250,000 Americans EVERY YEAR, people would be out for blood, asking for war, justice, everything.

But the medical establishment killing 250,000 people EVERY YEAR?  That’s standard procedure.

That’s really no big deal.  It happens. Nothing to see here, move a long now.  That’s standard procedure.

And if you happen to still believe that the mainstream media reports the truth, where are they now covering this?  This was published in arguably the most prestigious medical journal in the world. Where is the coverage?

Nothing but crickets.

There should be some serious discussions taking place considering that people are dropping like flies at hospitals.

What’s more, disturbingly, Newsweek reported:

“The researchers for the study from Johns Hopkins say their findings suggest the CDC’s method for collecting data on causes of death is flawed, leading to inaccurate estimates on just how dangerous a visit to your local hospital has become.

Death certificates currently don’t have a separate coding classification for medical errors, which means estimates are not accurate.

The medical coding system used by the CDC was originally developed for physicians and hospitals to determine what to bill health insurance companies for individualized patient care. The authors recommend an overhaul of how cause of death data is collected.”[Bold Emphasis Added]

That’s overwhelmingly significant, considering that this could mean there are even more big-medica-caused deaths that are not being counted.

Furthermore, with prescription drugs being doled out at the tune of 4 Billion per annum, it’s no wonder that medications are also injuring 1.5 Million people a year.

Not only are there 400,000 injuries that can be prevented each year at hospitals, but there are also 800,000 injuries that occur in long-term care facilities.

When does this stop?

By becoming aware that there is a problem, first.  Secondly, this begins to change when the individual decides to not become a statistic.

There are alternatives, which is why alternative medical care, which usually has no side effects, keeps growing at an unprecedented rate.

Don’t allow what happened to my family, losing two family members and nigh becoming a third loss myself, happen to yours.

Awareness is the key.  And awareness of this issue might just saved your life, or that of your loved one.

Prescription drug therapy has been a major contributor to the soaring rates of serious, disabling or fatal injuries, according to a 2011 study published in the British Journal of Medicine. Data from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices showed that anticoagulants dabigatran and warfarin were the most frequently identified medications that were reported to the FDA, suggesting that treatments designed to inhibit blood clots top the health risk index among prescription drugs. Nine other drugs were also shown to meet five criteria for clinically-relevant injuries associated with drugs.

The FDA received a total of 179,855 reports of serious, disabling and fatal drug interactions in the U.S. in 2011, a significant 9.4 percent increase (15,386 more cases) from 2010. The federal agency received the highest number of direct calls for the anticoagulants dabigatran and warfarin at 817 and 490, respectively.

Dabigatran was approved in 2010 for the prevention of stroke among patients with atrial fibrillation. Both manufacturer and direct FDA reports showed that the prescription drug was associated with nearly 4,000 serious domestic health conditions in 2011, surpassing many other regularly monitored prescription drugs. Dabigatran was the most commonly reported anticoagulant for hemorrhage, acute renal failure, stroke and liver failure.

Warfarin, on the other hand, is a generic drug that was approved in 1954, and has since become a staple in anticoagulation therapy. The generic prescription drug accounted for 1,106 reports in 2011, including 72 deaths. Warfarin requires regular laboratory assessment to optimize dosing. It also interacts with numerous other treatments.

Other prescription drugs listed were levofloxacin, carboplatin and lisinopril. These prescription drugs each accounted for more than 300 direct reports to the FDA.

Various prescription drugs were also attributed to many direct FDA reports regarding lawsuits filed by injured patients. Metoclopramide tops the list with 11,450 cases filed against its manufacturer. Metoclopramide is used in the treatment of acid reflux and nausea. The drug is tied to irreversible movement disorders.

Oral contraceptives Yaz and Yasmin were hit by 8,354 lawsuits in 2011. The drugs contain synthetic progestin, and are linked to higher odds of blood clots.

Avandia, a type 2 diabetes drug, had a total of 4,105 cases filed against its manufacturer. Avandia has been tied to increased risk of cardiovascular disease among patients with diabetes.

Chantix was fourth among the most sued drugs. Chantix is a smoking cessation drug associated with serious psychiatric side effects.

Accutane, a prescription drug used for the treatment of severe acne, contains strong warnings about inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, serious skin conditions, birth defects and psychiatric disorders.

Data show the most reported side effects and notorious drugs behind them

Researchers identified that severe liver injury was the most prominent side effect associated with prescription drug therapy. A total of 2,260 such injuries were reported in 2011. Infliximab and acetaminophen accounted for 13.2 percent of reported cases. Data showed that infliximab led to a total of 159 reported cases, while acetaminophen accounted for 139 cases.

Severe cutaneous reactions appeared to be the second most reported adverse events at 2,207 cases. Severe skin reactions resulting from taking prescription drugs were noted in the report. Some serious cases involved life threatening skin conditions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. Lamotrigine, an anti-epileptic drug, was linked to most reported cases at 119, followed by smoking cessation treatment, Chantix, at 93 cases. Both drugs were responsible for 9.6 percent of reported cases of severe cutaneous reactions.

Data also revealed that suicidal and/or homicidal tendencies were listed among the most prominent side effects of prescription drug treatment. According to the report, a total of 2,030 cases of suicidal/homicidal attempts were tied to prescription therapy in 2011. Quetiapine, a drug used to treat psychosis, ranked as the leading drug suspect for suicidal/homicidal attempts, at 197 reported cases. The smoking cessation drug varenicline accounted for 187 cases.

Pancreatitis was also a prominent side effect that was tied to prescription medications. According to the report, there were nearly 2,000 reported cases of pancreatitis in 2011. Diabetes drugs liraglutide and exenatide were attributed to 43 percent of pancreatitis cases reported. Liraglutide accounted for 413 reported cases of pancreatitis, while exenatide was blamed for 404 cases.

Rhabdomyolysis was also included in the list of most reported side effects. This condition occurs when damaged or destroyed skeletal muscle cells release a protein called myoglobin into the bloodstream. High myoglobin levels lead to renal failure. More than 500 cases of rhabdolyolysis were associated with prescription drug treatment. Cholesterol-lowering drugs simvastatin and rosuvastatin accounted for a 38 percent incidence rate in the report, at 123 cases and 73 cases, respectively.

Big Pharma: From Rx blunders to billion dollar revenues

The U.S. pharmaceutical industry plays a vital role in global drug production. Data from statistics portal STATISTA shows that the U.S. alone is responsible for more than 40 percent of the total global pharmaceutical market. In fact, this share was estimated to have a net value of about $413 billion in 2015. In the same year, six of the top 11 global drug firms were based in the U.S.

Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Merck & Co. were the largest U.S.-based drug firms in the global market. Johnson and & Johnson alone generated around $70 billion in revenue for F.Y. 2015.

Statistics also showed that the total nominal drug spend in the country amounted to $425 billion in 2015. Diabetes, cancer and autoimmune disorders were among the top three conditions that a large chunk of money was being spent on. The U.S. spent more than $110 million on these diseases in 2015 alone. On the other hand, Gilead Sciences’ hepatitis C drug, Harvoni, was the highest-selling treatment in the U.S., generating a massive revenue of close to $14 billion in 2015.

According to a report by the Centre for Research on Globalization, more than 75 percent of U.S. citizens aged 50 and older are currently taking prescription medicines, while one-in-four middle-aged women are reportedly on antidepressants. Research also shows that the U.S. consumes up to 80 percent of the global supply of painkillers. People who admit to taking prescription drugs report taking four prescription treatments on a daily basis.

The report also identified medical error as a third leading cause of death in the U.S. – well behind heart disease and cancer. Data showed that 440,000 U.S. citizens die annually due to medical errors that are otherwise preventable. Heavy reliance on big pharmaceutical companies for drug information appears to be the root cause of misdiagnosis and subsequent medical errors committed by medical practitioners. Their lack of adequate knowledge and training on certain drug interactions contributes to the increasing rates of medical errors that could have been prevented. Furthermore, the report states that the over-prescription of antibiotics has proved to be a rising threat in the U.S., with up to 20,000 prescriptions released every year. Most of these antibiotics contain toxic chemicals that can cause severe damage to the nervous system.

Mismanagement of antibiotic intake has been shown to promote bacterial resistance, making the drugs less effective. The report argues that doctors and big pharmaceutical companies know this, but continue to push the over-prescription of antibiotics anyway. The report also called out the big pharma industry, stating that the inclusion of various toxins and questionable ingredients in childhood vaccines is egregious in nature and further exacerbates the risk of autism, brain damage and death.

Another Devastating Revelation On Killer Medical Drugs Is Buried

March 5, 2017

Every once in a while, an analysis that explodes confidence in the medical system surfaces.

It might appear as a newspaper article, or a review published in a medical journal.

Its fate is always the same. It sinks like a stone in a dark lake. As if it never happened.

Months or years later, people who read the original article begin to doubt their own memory. “Did I really read that? If I had, surely other articles would have been written. There would have been uproar…”

No. It’s par for the press to bury uncomfortable stories and give them a quick death. It’s another form of censorship.

For example:

The citation is: BMJ June 7, 2012 (BMJ 2012;344:e3989) “Anticoagulants cause the most serious adverse events, finds US analysis.” Author, Jeanne Lenzer.

Lenzer refers to a report by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices: “It calculated that in 2011 prescription drugs were associated with two to four million people in the US experiencing ‘serious, disabling, or fatal injuries, including 128,000 deaths.’”

The report called this “one of the most significant perils to humans resulting from human activity.”

And here is the final dagger. The report was compiled by outside researchers who went into the FDA’s own database of “serious adverse [medical-drug] events.”

Therefore, to say the FDA isn’t aware of this finding would be absurd. The FDA knows. The FDA knows and it isn’t saying anything about it, because THE FDA CERTIFIES, AS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE, ALL THE DRUGS THAT ARE ROUTINELY MAIMING AND KILLING AMERICANS.

And here is another “stone that sank in the lake” I just came across. This one is from the June 27th, 2014, issue of the Harvard Safra Center for Ethics newsletter, by Donald Light, “New Prescription Drugs: A Major Health Risk With Few Offsetting Advantages”:

“Few know that systematic reviews of hospital charts found that even properly prescribed drugs (aside from misprescribing, overdosing, or self-prescribing) cause about 1.9 million hospitalizations a year. Another 840,000 hospitalized patients are given drugs that cause serious adverse reactions for a total of 2.74 million serious adverse drug reactions. About 128,000 people die [per year] from drugs prescribed to them. This makes prescription drugs a major health risk, ranking 4th with stroke as a leading cause of death. The European Commission estimates that adverse reactions from prescription drugs cause 200,000 deaths; so together, about 328,000 patients in the U.S. and Europe die from prescription drugs each year. The FDA does not acknowledge these facts and instead gathers a small fraction of the cases.”

Any sane person would expect a massive reaction to these stories. Congressional probes, court cases, arrests and prosecutions of FDA officials and pharmaceutical executives and researchers, mass firings of editors at medical journals who publish studies praising the killer drugs.

But no. It doesn’t happen.

Essentially, these criminals are left alone, and they continue in their work. They’re like war criminals who have let off the hook for their crimes against humanity.

And these days, the elite media outlets who are crowing about “fake news” are not put under the spotlight for their decades of inattention to medical murder.

In their silence, they enable medical murder.

Antidepressant For Adolescents Was Misrepresented As Safe

Revisiting clinical trial data has led investigators to conclude that not only was the antidepressant drug paroxetine is no better than the placebo, but it have may caused serious side effects including suicide.

Source: Asianscientist.com
September 15, 2016

A University of Adelaide-led study has found that a psychiatric drug claimed to be a safe and effective treatment for depression in adolescents is actually ineffective and associated with serious side effects. Their results have been published in the British Medical Journal.

Professor Jon Jureidini, from the University of Adelaide’s newly created Critical and Ethical Mental Health Research Group (CEMH) at the Robinson Research Institute, led a team of international researchers who re-examined Study 329, a randomized controlled trial which evaluated the efficacy and safety of paroxetine (Aropax, Paxil, Seroxat) compared with a placebo for adolescents diagnosed with major depression.

Study 329, which was funded by SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline), was reported in 2001 as having found that paroxetine was effective and safe for depression in adolescents. However, Jureidini’s reanalysis showed no advantages associated with taking paroxetine and demonstrated worrying adverse effects.

“Although concerns had already been raised about Study 329, and the way it was reported, the data was not previously made available so researchers and clinicians weren’t able to identify all of the errors in the published report,” says Jureidini.

“It wasn’t until the data was made available for re-examination that it became apparent that paroxetine was linked to serious adverse reactions, with 11 of the patients taking paroxetine engaging in suicidal or self-harming behaviors compared to only one person in the group of patients who took the placebo,” he says.

“Our study also revealed that paroxetine was no more effective at relieving the symptoms of depression than a placebo. This is highly concerning because prescribing this drug may have put young patients at unnecessary risk from a treatment that was supposed to help them,” he says.

Jureidini says it is important that research data and protocols are accessible so they can be reviewed and scrutinized.

“In 2013, an international researcher consortium called for undisclosed outcomes of trials to be published and for misleading publications to be corrected. This initiative was called restoring invisible and abandoned trials (RIAT),” says Jureidini.

Study 329 was one of the trials identified as in need of restoration, and because the original funder was not interested in revisiting the trial, Jurenidini’s group took on the task.

“Our reanalysis of Study 329 came to very different conclusions to those in the original paper,” he says.  “We also learnt a lot about incorrect reporting and the considerable fall out that can be associated with distorted data.”

“Regulatory research authorities should mandate that all data and protocols are accessible,” he says. “Although concerns about patient confidentiality and ‘commercial in confidence’ issues are important, the reanalysis of Study 329 illustrates the necessity of making primary trial data available to increase the rigour of evidence-based research,” he says.

Blogging Flu Hoax: Not For Prime-Time News

“Repeat a lie often enough and people believe it. We all know that. But there are millions of people out there who think a public-health agency like the CDC, a scientific body, would never engage in such tactics. Those millions of people would be wrong. There is a rule: the most holy, sacred, revered, uncontestable organization hides the biggest secrets. It’s a good rule to keep in mind. Major media don’t apply it. But you can.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

There are many propaganda operations surrounding the flu. Here I just want to boil down a few boggling facts.

Dr. Peter Doshi, writing in the online BMJ (British Medical Journal), reveals one monstrosity.

As Doshi states, every year, hundreds of thousands of respiratory samples are taken from flu patients in the US and tested in labs. Here is the kicker: only a small percentage of these samples show the presence of a flu virus.

This means: most of the people in America who are diagnosed by doctors with the flu have no flu virus in their bodies.

So they don’t have the flu.

Therefore, even if you assume the flu vaccine is useful and safe, it couldn’t possibly prevent all those “flu cases” that aren’t flu cases.

The vaccine couldn’t possibly work.

How The Medical Establishment Is Making The American Populace Sicker

TheBreakaway
Zy Marquiez
June 10, 2016

“Probably as much as 75% of the medicine of sickness is unnecessary and its cost can be avoided.”
–  Dr. Ghislaine Lanctot, Author Of The Medical Mafia

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.”
–Marcia Angell, MD, New York Review of Books, 2009

The video above delineates the link between the lack of health in our society, and the enormous amount of prescription drugs that people within American society take.

In it Dr. James L. Chesnut speaks about the current state of health of the populace, and how the link between drug use and health isn’t as copacetic as the establishment would like you to believe.

Its only a three minute video, so when you have the time please take a gander at it.

In any case, to further elaborate on the issue in America, there are over 4 Billion medications prescribed per annum, and it wouldn’t be out of the realm of reasonable educated guesswork to estimate that the number has increased.[1]

With Americans taking more medications than any other country in the world, is our health any better?

The evidence states otherwise.

Not only is our corrupt for-health for-profit medical system unsurprisingly the most expensive in the world [2], but our life expectancy is worse than that of a third world country.[3]

Those who have been paying attention to the latest medical studies, and those who have been paying attention longer than that will of course know one of the overwhelming reasons for the above disturbing facts: the nigh endless over-medication of the American populace.

Most people don’t know it’s illegal in all countries but two for pharmaceutical companies to advertise directly to consumers.  Those countries are the United States and New Zealand.[4]

As mentioned in a previous piece:

“Many people do not know this, and for good reason.  The pharmaceutical companies would prefer people not realize what’s illegal elsewhere, because it would quickly show incisive individuals something is amyss.  People would immediately question the veracity of the situation.

Why is this important?  Because that law is in place to protect individuals from the highly specialized, and yet misleading advertising of all drugs.

Misleading because, as Dr. Brogan notes in her landmark book, A Mind Of Your Own:

“…only two studies are required for FDA licensure of most pharmaceuticals, essentially leaving the population to participate in a post-marketing experiment in which adverse effects – casualties – are monitored passively.  It’s a fabrication of science to think these drugs have a place in medicine, what is meant to be the art of healing.” [5][Bold Emphasis Added]

Brogan continues outlining how efficient Big Pharma advertising is:

“It’s been calculated that DTCA [drug-to-consumer advertising] is responsible for nearly half (49 percent) of requests for drugs.  And fully seven out of ten times doctors prescribe based on appeal by patients who learned through their computers and televisions that they have an “imbalance” that must be fixed with a pill.”[6][Bold Emphasis Added]

More disturbingly, there is no extensive long term studies carried out to clear Big Pharma drugs before getting approval.  And these very drugs that have not been tested in any true long term settings continued to be doled out by the Billions per annum.

Getting to the core of the matter, Dr. Brogan elaborates:

Their patients have never consented to the long-term effects of these medications because pharmaceutical research is, by nature, short term.  There is no incentive on the part of the pharmaceutical  companies to take a good look at what happens to the average individual when she takes a medication for a decade or so.”[7][Bold Emphasis Added]

Furthermore, as has been known for over a decade due to the unprecedented study Dr. Barbara Starfield  named “Is US Health The Best In The World?” and reinforced recently with further studies not long ago by the British Medical Journal, preventable medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States. [8][9]

Why is that relevant?  Because people keep popping pills like they are candy without knowing full well the risks they are taking.

Ruminate a bit.  Conservative estimates say preventable medical errors kill [conservatively] 250,000 people EVERY YEAR.  Some estimates go higher than 400,000 and more.

In any logical and reasonable world, that would be an outright catastrophe.

Any other industry killing hundreds of thousands [the car industry, tobacco, food, etc.] would be stormed by the media, politicians and the populace for such a prodigious death rate.

In America, though, that’s “normal”.

It might be time to evaluate what passes for normal in America.

What’s next?  Drug out of vending machines?

Oh wait, we’re there already.  No, this is not a joke.

As if rampant drugs on college campuses weren’t an issue that was hush-hush already, Arizona State University plans on selling drugs out of vending machines.[10]

We can see the drug use will become easier and predictably increase.  Of course, profits depend on it.

But what about the use of [un]common sense?  Will that become easier?  What about seeking reason?  Will that become easier?

Its your job as an individual – your responsibility – to know what world you’re living in.

In the world of profits-before-people, people question nothing.

In a world of sound reason and logic, people question everything.

Open minded skepticism is the answer.

What world do you live in?

What If You Were Told Preventable Medical Errors Were The Third Leading Cause Of Death In The United States?

QuestionEverything2
“Probably as much as 75% of the medicine of sickness is unnecessary and its cost can be avoided.”
–  Dr. Ghislaine Lanctot, Author Of The Medical Mafia

What if you were told…

Rather recently, it was reported by the British Medical Journal [BMJ] – although it had already been reported for quite some time by various researchers who outlined Dr.

Isn’t it sad, that we hear about terrorism literally every single day, never hear about preventable medical errors?  Of course, that would crack the reality egg and wake people up.  The establishment will always make sure that doesn’t happen.

Think about it, if terrorists were killing 250,000 Americans EVERY YEAR, people would be out for blood, asking for war, justice, everything.

But the medical establishment killing 250,000 people EVERY YEAR?

That’s really no big deal.  It happens.

And if you really believe the mainstream media reports the truth, where are they now covering this?

The authors recommend an overhaul of how cause of death data is collected.”

That’s overwhelmingly significant, considering that this could mean there are even more big-medica-caused deaths that are not being counted.  How convenient.

Furthermore, with prescription drugs being doled out at the tune of 4 Billion per annum, it’s no wonder that medications are also injuring 1.5 Million people a year.  That’s besides the 250,000 yearly deaths caused by the for-profit medical system.

Not only are there 400,000 injuries that can be prevented each year at hospitals, but there are also 800,000 injuries that occur in long-term care facilities.

When does this stop?

When the individual decides to not become a statistic.

Now that you’ve been told…

What are you going to do?

Are you going to make sure you do as much research as possible to take control of your health care, or are you going to roll the dice and risk becoming a statistic?

Balls in your court.
