What’s Up Down There In Antarctica?

It’s beginning to be the case that I almost need a special “Antarctica” tab for this website, because it seems the strangeness of stories coming out of there just keeps coming. This week, so many people saw one version or another of this story that I know they were thinking what I am thinking: could this be the reason for the strangeness of the stories about the place lately?

Possibly. But before we get to all that, a brief memory refresher. Regular readers of my books and of this website know just how peculiar Antarctica really is, not so much because it’s covered in ice, and is inaccessible, but rather because a very strange list of people are associated with it, and with those people, there are also strange stories. By now, we can probably recite the list of strange people associated with Antartica by heart:

(1)  Rudolf Hess, (2) Hermann Goering, (3) Admiral Byrd, (4) King Juan Carlos, (5) Prince Harry (or was it William… they all look the same), (6) Secretary of State John Kerry, (7) the Patriarch of Moscow, Kiril III, (8) Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and, lest we forget, the elements of the Russian Baltic Sea Fleet are scheduled for a visit.

The stories have been almost as strange as the list. Admiral Byrd and Operation High Jump, as readers here know, returned from an expedition to the continent that was supposed to have lasted months, after only a few weeks. Along the way back home, Byrd reportedly gave an interview to a reporter for El Mercurio of Santiago de Chile, in which he warned that the United States would have to prepare to defend itself against “enemy fighters” (leaving the enemy unspecified) that could fly from pole to pole with tremendous speed. And of course, there are the stories of secret Nazi flying saucer bases under the ice (a story I’ve never bought, incidentally), a couple of Adolf Hitler survived in Antarctica stories. President Clinton contributed his own bizarre story by holding a press conference during his administration about a meteor from Mars that was allegedly found in Antarctica, which meteor also evidently contained microbial sized fossilized life.

As if it couldn’t possibly get any stranger, there were also those stories several years ago that the Russians had “found something” near their installations at the vast under-ice lake Vostok; there were emergency evacuations at that time of people becoming suddenly sick (which of course fueled the rumor mill); perhaps the weirdest of all the stories was that the Saudis found something during an excavation around the Grand Mosque at Mecca, something which so terrified them that they turned it over to the Russians, who promptly (so the story goes) took it to Antarctica where Patriarch Kiril “performed ancient rituals” over it. Well, needless to say, I don’t buy that story either (the part about the Saudis finding “something” and then turning it over to the Orthodox Christian “infidels” just isn’t washing with me), but I mention it for the sake of completeness.

Then Buzz Aldrin decided, within mere days of Secretary John Kerry’s visit, to visit the southern continent, and before boarding the flight in South Africa that would take him there, he tweeted he was getting ready to “go to the launchpad,” a statement that I pointed out at the time could be taken as “astronautese” for boarding the airplane, or that it might mean that Antarctica was the “launchpad.” Then, while in Antarctica, Aldrin gets sick, and has to be evacuated. A variant on the story also had him tweeting that what had been discovered was some “absolute evil.”

Oh, and let’s not forget, Lockheed Martin of Black Projects Fame also has a presence in Antarctica. Buzz Aldrin, John Kerry,  Kiril III, Herman Goering, Rudolf Hess, and Lockheed Martin.

That’s quite a line-up. The stuff of a bad Hollyweird B movie.

Well, now we might finally have a glimpse of what all the ruckus has been about:

Mysterious shapes and patterns discovered in Arctic and Antarctic sea floor

Of course, there is the usual blather that all this represents nothing strange or bizarre at all: all those polygons and so on are merely what happens when minerals and ice freeze. No argument from me.  But of course, this doesn’t really explain why Kerry Kiril and Aldrin would be so keen to visit beautiful scenic Antarctica. I suspect, however, in the case of the second image, that the freezing-polygon explanation falls “a little short,” for I don’t know about you, but something sure looks artificial to me. And – what the heck – I’m willing to crawl out to the extreme end of the twig of speculation on this one, and say that my first thought, when I saw this picture, was that it looked like an electrical coil or installation of some sort. We’re given no idea of the scale of what we’re looking at, but it looks like “input, coil, output” to me.

In short, it looks like a “something”, and that certainly would account for Kerry, Aldrin, Kiril, and Lockheed-Martin and the Russian Baltic Sea fleet. The real question is, did Hess and Goering have similar information, and if so, how did they come by it?

See you on the flip side…

I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted from the American referendum. And while all the broohaha was going on, there were other stories taking place last week and in the run-up to it, that would be good to review this week. Some of them, as we’ll see, may or may not have something to do with the election, and some of them not.

But somehow, this one, I think, may have something to do with it. Or – as seems more likely – it may have something to do with the strange goings-on in Antarctica over the past few years, or possibly both. Just by way of a brief review of those goings-on, a few years ago there began to be rumors being shared that the Russians had found or discovered something in the large under-ice lake, Lake Vostok, on that continent. Whatever was going on, the Russians weren’t talking, but there seemed to have been by some accounts a minor flurry of activities there as they were flying planes in and out of the polar continent. Then, of course, we’ve seen the strange stories of sudden illnesses over the years, and of emergency flights having to go down and fetch people and fly them back to civilization for treatment of whatever mysterious illnesses they were suffering. But we never hear any follow up to these, on exactly what these people might have contracted. Then there was, of course, the Nazi expedition to that continent in 1938-39, under the auspices of Nazi Party Reichsleiter Rudolf Hess and Reichsmarschall Herman Goering. The expedition stayed several months, made surveys of Queen Maud Land or, as the Nazis called it, Neuschwabenland (New Swabia), and the expedition returned to Germany by a curious zig-zag route through the southern Atlantic. Medallions were struck, and then everyone pretty much forgot about it, and the Nazis weren’t saying very much either.

After the war, of course, was Admiral Richard Byrd’s Operation High Jump expedition, outfitted for several months’ stay, a battalion of specially trained Marines, some destroyers and destroyer escorts, and a small light aircraft carrier. After a few weeks, the expedition departed in a rather hurried fashion, and Admiral Byrd gave an interview – now well-known in various histories – to the El Mercurio of Santiago de Chile, in which he allegedly stated that the USA would have to prepare itself to defend against “enemy fighters” which could fly from pole to pole with tremendous speed. This in turn fueled all sorts of “Nazi UFO-flying saucer” speculations which still get a lot of traction in certain circles, though this author disagrees with it strongly, for reasons I’ve articulated in several interviews and in some of my books. In any case, however, it is an indicator of more high strangeness in Antarctica. And rounding out all this high strangeness, reports and stories have run in various magazines such as Nexus of post-war British and America covert operations on the southern continent, shooting it out with Antarctic SS troops in caverns deep beneath the ice. More recently, pictures have occasionally surfaced on various internet sites of alleged giant pyramids beneath the ice, and so on.

As if it couldn’t possibly get any stranger, even more recently the Patriarch of Moscow, Kirill III, visited the polar continent a few months ago, had his picture taken with some penguins, shortly after his historic meeting in Havana with Pope Francis I, where the two hierarchs signed a joint declaration calling for an end to the genocide of Christians in the Middle East. Ostensibly, Kirill III’s visit to the continent was to bless a Russian Orthodox Church on the continent, serving the Russian contingent there. That was a story that may have had some traction for the moment, but now there’s been another high-level visitor to that continent, and that was none other than the US Secretary of State, John “Ketchup” Kerry, whose visit moreover occurred during what surely must rank as one of the most hard fought and important elections in US history. This raises the question, why such a visit now? Perhaps they were planning to fund another chapter of Isis or Al Qaeda, but I doubt it.

Here’s the story:

John Kerry lands in Antarctica becoming the highest US official to visit the continent

There is of course not much of any detail here, save the mention that Mr. Kerry, a former US Senator, has made “climate change” one of “his” issues, thus hinting that this may have been a possible purpose of his visit. The official announcement from the US Department of State also highlights the climate change angle:

Secretary Kerry Travels to Antarctica

Note that the State Department bulletin indicates that this is a component of a global tour… no problem, we’ll just make a stop along the way in Antarctica.

You know me: I just can’t help the high octane speculation impulse. Consider only the wide context here, and the strange associations of the southern continent’s visitors in the past eight decades: Nazis, whose expedition was sponsored by Herman Goering and Rudolf Hess, the latter of whom flew to the United Kingdom in May 1941 to seek out a peace with that country, or so we’re told. Hess -or at least, someone looking pretty much like him, though his British physician expressed doubts, since the “Spandau Prison Hess” did not have any scars from the wounds he supposedly suffered as a soldier in World War One – then spent the rest of his life in Spandau Prison, until he supposedly hoisted his frail body up and hung himself. And this was after Mr. Gorbachev apparently reversed the veto on his release, placing the ball firmly in Britain’s court, and apparently they weren’t buying. In any case, that’s the circumstances, in a nutshell, of Hess’s death. Then there was Admiral Byrd and his Marines, the Patriarch of Moscow, and now, a few months later, John Kerry.  And if one believes those stories reported in Duncan Rhodes’ Nexus magazine a few years ago, one can add a list of secret British and American commandos and some Nazi SS troops.

In that context, the “climate change” explanation doesn’t seem to be carrying much water. I can believe Kerry might have such an agenda, but Rudolf Hess and Herman Goering? Ausgeschlossen! Patriarch Kirill of Moscow was there to indulge a secret “climate change” hobby? Nyet! Admiral Byrd a “global warming guru”? Not a chance.

The US Secretary of State is the USA’s chief diplomat. And notably, his visit occurred within the context of an extended diplomatic tour to other countries, suggesting that…

A couple of weeks ago, more or less, I blogged about the unusual goings on in Antarctica, as an evacuation aircraft was making its way to our southern polar continent. What I found quite strange at that time was the presence of Lockheed-Martin, the famous US defense and black projects contractor, on that continent. A few years prior, you’ll recall, there was much speculation about what the Russians were doing, or had found (or both), at Lake Vostok, the large submerged lake in Antarctica. The Russians weren’t talking; which left everyone else to talk and guess. More recently, after his historic meeting with Pope Francis I, Kirill III, Patriarch of Moscow, made his way to Antarctica as well, took a couple of photo op pictures with the penguins, and blessed a Russian church there, apparently the first Orthodox church on that continent. But I cannot help but think that maybe there was more than that at work.

In any case, the strange goings on in Antarctica don’t stop there. A few years prior to that, as I noted in Roswell and the Reich, a German amateur seismologist had allegedly recorded extraordinarily large anomalous wave fluctuations in the region. And of course, prior to that, we had the whole Nazi expedition of 1938-39, the equally curious “silence” surrounding it after its return to Germany, and then the post-war expedition of Admiral Byrd, Operation “Highjump”, which was cut short dramatically after some American pilots had crashed, or, as some of the lore has it, were shot down. Byrd, of course, gave his now well-known statements to the Santiago El Mercurio, in which he stated the USA had to prepare its defenses against enemy fighters that could fly from pole to pole with tremendous speed. Then we had the stories in Nexus magazine and other outlets about secret postwar British SAS operations on that continent, allegedly against a group of surviving and fanatical Nazis. And finally, there have been the occasional internet articles alleging that large pyramidal structures have been discovered there.

Whatever one makes of all of this, it is clear that the polar continent is the center of some very bizarre activity and attention: German Nazis, American Admirals and marines, British special ops forces, Orthodox Patriarchs, and American black-projects aerospace companies, and pyramids.

The picture this paints could have been painted by Hieronymus Bosch.

Well, it just became stranger, for several people emailed this article to me, and one regular website reader, who lives in Russia, assures me that this story has also run on Russian television, for now it seems there is something strange going on in the opposite polar regions, in the Russian Arctic:

RUSSIAN BIOWARFARE TROOPS RUSHED TO ARTIC DUE TO DANGEROUS INFECTION

What’s the infection? Well, as the article makes clear, it’s an outbreak of anthrax, a disease one normally does not associate with the Arctic. But the deployment of 1,200 biowarfare specialist troops does make one wonder whether the Russian government may suspect more is going on than they’re publicly admitting. Indeed, the article states that other deadly agents may have been involved. But then comes the strangest zinger of them all:

Strange Going On In Antarctica

In case you missed it with all the talk about BREXIT – you know, all that talk about how the EU and the euro will inevitably collapse, how the BREXIT vote strengthens the dollar, and how a cap will eventually be put on the euro and people caught in the currency will lose yet more wealth and how the d-Mark and some revival of the old Exchange Rate Mechanism will return &c &c and so forth – there was a very interesting story coming out of Antarctica that Mr. S.D. and a few others shared, and it caught my eye for a number of reasons, not the least because of one statement stuck in the middle of an otherwise apparently “bland” article:

South Pole medical evacuation flight launched

Now, before we get to that strange statement and my high octane speculation of the day, note that this story concerns the medical evacuation of an unnamed member of a scientific team. It’s not the first such story we’ve seen coming out of Antarctica in recent years, as other such flights have been made, but they have been shrouded in a pall of secrecy: little real information has come out about why these flights are necessary. You’ll note, for example, that in this article there’s very little real information about why this medical evacuation was necessary, and a lot of … well, fluff about Antarctic flights and so on. In the past, the pattern has been similar, and has fueled all sorts of speculation and “conspiracy theories” about the discovery of deadly dormant viruses and other diseases. A few years ago, the focus was on Lake Vostok and what the Russians were doing there which, again, was shrouded in secrecy. Then, more recently, there was the strange visit to the southern continent of Russian Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow, Kirill III, the first Christian hierarchy – Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican or otherwise – to visit the southern polar continent. Kirill posed, of course, for the photo op with the penguins, and then flew back to Russia. And this occurred, lest we forget, after his meeting with Pope Francis I in Havanna.

That too, fueled all sorts of speculations, including a story that the Saudis had dug up some sort of ancient apocalyptic “horn of Gabriel” technology while excavating near the Grand Mosque in Mecca. The story – so it went – was that the Saudis turned in desperation to Mr. Putin and the Russians, who promptly took the alleged recovered technology to Antarctica, and buried it.

And, lest we forget, there are of course all those stories about Nazis, flying saucers, and secret Antarctic Nazi flying saucer research bases. Of course, I’ve never been on board with that interpretation of the Nazi presence there, and have detailed the reasons why in various books and interviews. Nonetheless, these rumors were fueled by the strange and sudden evacuation of Admiral Byrd’s postwar Operation High Jump expedition to the continent. But as I’ve also pointed out (in Roswell and the Reich), there were very strange seismic events allegedly being recorded on the continent of wild long standing waves that far exceeded the normal seismic signatures of earthquakes, even very large ones. And, lest we forget, those were posted by a German amateur following the strange goings on in Antarctica.

So, all of this, I suppose, is the context in which, perhaps, to view the following strange statement in the article, indeed, the only statement in the article of any real factual significance, and one which invites – nay, almost compels – some high octane speculation:

Officials with the National Science Foundation (NSF) have launched a medical evacuation flight to NSF’s scientific station at the geographic South Pole.

After comprehensive consultation with outside medical professionals, agency officials decided that a medical situation at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station warrants returning a member of the station’s winter crew to a hospital that can provide a level of medical care that is unavailable at the station.

The patient is seasonally employed through the Lockheed Martin Antarctic Support Contract (ASC), the prime contract for operations and research support contractor to NSF for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). NSF is not releasing any further personal or medical information to preserve the patient’s privacy.
(Emphasis added)

Say that again please? Lockheed-Martin has a contract for scientific research in Antarctica? The same Lockheed-Martin renowned for advanced aerodynamics, the same Lochheed-Martin that is a key corporate defense contractor and player in the US military-industrial complex? The same Lockheed-Martin that recently rolled out its small nuclear fusion reactor(that, let it be recalled, looked suspiciously like the 1960s patents for the same by Philo Farnsworth), small enough to “fit on the back of a truck?” The same Lockheed-Martin whose former chief of its “Skunk works”, Ben Rich, is alleged to have said before he died that “we found an error in the equations” and now “we can take ET home” and a number of other equally provocative remarks? The same Lockheed-Martin that is alleged, in certain alternative research and Ufology circles has been one of the companies in the vanguard of “anti-gravity” research?
